On February 21st, the first day of new semester, university's Executive Vice President Zhao Zhong visited our college and inspected the preparation work of new semester.

    College Party Secretary and Executive Vice Dean, Chen Yuchun generally reported the information of the preparation work of new school year, the number of students back to school, and the details in project of Wageningen University's Honor Students. 
 
    To grantee the teaching remain in smooth operation, our college had negotiated with the teachers in advance and had scheduled all the courses offered in the first week. In addition, our college arranged the time of supplementary examination and urged the students to be back on time for registration and preparation work in new semester. Meanwhile, our college successfully handled the problems of course conflict resulting from students' autonomous practice in selecting new courses. Thanks to the negotiation with relative department and colleges, teaching affairs of Wageningen University's Honor Students Project had been skillfully settled. Careful work enabled the teaching go in order and the high attendance of 95% students in each class. 
   
    President Zhao extended his appreciation to the well-done preparation work and the enthusiastic working spirit of the staff. He pointed out that, given the various disciplines involved  and massive organization work in teaching, the smooth going of teaching required the strategical and careful arrangement. He also emphasized the importance of training scheme. Namely, the students should be given more time for self study while curriculum time should be reduced, and the students were supposed to get their ability to analyse and solve the problem improved independently, therefore, seminar and topic-centered teaching approach were highly appreciated.  He also attached great importance to the basic course like Advanced Mathematic, suggesting the increase in the exercises, the application of basic course in Life Science, and the value of topic-centered teaching approach in "Two Courses" for serving as reference experience. He said that group teaching and proper-arranged teachers' team should be promoted to average the teaching up. The operation of Wageningen University's Honor Students Project will grow prosperity as we timely carried on the mutual communication with Wageningen University and as we learnt and emulated their teaching experience. He proposed his hope that our college sum up the experience of teaching practice and make greater contribution to the cultivation of innovative talents and the teaching reform of university education through persistently exploration, reflection and promotion.
