On August 31st, the opening ceremony and NWAFU scholarship award ceremony was held on the athletic field of Zhejiang Normal University High School. CIE Dean, Mr. Wenjun Ou was invited to the ceremony and awarded the scholarship to the five winner students.

Mr. Wenjun Ou, in his speech, extended warm congratulations to the students who have won the 2015 Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University scholarship. He briefly introduced NWAFU in terms of the history, educational and research status quo and the pronounced contribution the university have made for the development of agricultural science and technology. He pointed out that the reason why the university has set up scholarship in some key high schools is to attract and encourage a bunch of excellent students to become the successors and constructors of the undertaking of farmers, rural areas and agriculture and make contributions to the construction of national agriculture modernization and agricultural science and technology enterprise.

Mr. Wenjun Ou encouraged students to be ambitious and goal-oriented, to be earnest and down-to-earth, to be diligent and insightful, and to be brave and responsible. Students should learn how to study, how to behave oneself and play leading role in life and study. Also, they should undertake the obligations for the development of national agriculture while pursuing individual excellence.

In the evening of the awarding ceremony, Mr. Zushan Yang, an associate professor from Art Institute of Landscape Architecture, NWAFU, delivered an inspiring lecture on Landscape Architecture and Ecological Civilization and further enhanced knowledge and understanding of faculty and students of high school and expanded our university’s appeal.
