Our College Held Opening Ceremony of New Term for Students of 2011

On September 10th, our college held Opening Ceremony of New Term in the hall of College of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering. College Dean Professor Wang Guodong and other memebers of College Management Committee, mentors of new students, representatives of consumer colleges and Dean of Agronomy College Pro. Liao Yuncheng attended the ceremony. College Executive Associate Dean and Party Secretary Chen Yuchun was present to host the ceremony.

At 3:00p.m., the ceremony commenced with the solemn national song. First, our college Dean Professor Wang Guodong addressed the ceremony, who extended his sincere congratulations to  the students of base classes and experimental classes for their enrollment with high grades. Then, professor Wang made a brief introduction to our college, including its cultivation model, educational mechanism and means and the practice in international communication and cooperation. In addition, he revealed his high expectation to the students in his remarks. First, the students were supposed to adjust to the new environment and acquire good habit in learning and life. Second, the new students were expected to be goal-oriented for future accomplishment in their life, which required them to make sensible options of their educational model, research orientation and academic supervisors. Third, the new students were encouraged to participate in kinds of campus cultural activities to enrich their university life for integrated development. Informative and inviting, the speech Professor Wang made was highly appreciated and popular among the students.         

On behalf of faculty of their college, Dean of Agronomy Professor Liao Yuncheng showed his warm welcome to the new students of Innovative and Experimental College. Then, Mr. Liao informed the students of the disciplines, faculty, scientific research platform and science-technology extension of their college. He emphasized that, College of Agronomy would be supportive for the scientific research training and programs our college students engaged in, by providing excellent teachers and offering superior teaching resources. Last, he generalized his expectation of the student to be goal-oriented, modest individual of innovation, nobility and generosity.

At the ceremony, our college Executive Associate Dean and Party Secretary Chen Yuchun announced the Decision on Employment of Mentor of Students 2011. The mentors were responsible for the growth and development of their students via offering instruction in their academic study, ideological education and quality enhancement.

Finally, the student representative of senior students Gu Chenyan from 2008 Business Administration Class shared her secrets to success---to make your excellence a convention of your life. Representative of new students Liu Yujie from Biotechnology Base Class uttered the determinations that they would grasp any opportunities for success, which gave a pleasant end the ceremony.
