CIE Held Teaching Practice at Animal Husbandry Base
From: CIE Teaching Affairs Office      By: Li Jiale & Ma Chuan      Date: 2018-06-11

To strengthen the students’ understanding of animal science knowledge, CIE held teaching practice on the afternoon of June 6th.  31 CIE students led by the Associate Dean Wang Xiaoping and the student counselor Zhang Shicheng took the school bus to NWAFU animal husbandry base for the activity.

Visiting the base and listening to the instruction of teachers will give rise to students’ interest in animal science and animal husbandry as well as enthusiasm for participating in related scientific research work. Mr. Ren Zhihui, a teacher from the animal husbandry teaching base took the responsibility as the interpreter. In spite of the hot weather that afternoon, the instructor and listeners were both concentrated in the communication. Afterwards, the students also got close contact with the NWAFU Saanen dairy goats, Qinchuan cattle and Guanzhong black swines. The students were curious about these rare companions in their daily lives. They took photos with their mobile phones, and some students touched these gentle animals with their hands. After the  teaching activities, under the leadership of Mr. Wang Xiaoping and Zhang Shicheng, the students all returned with a feeling of excitement.

Li Jingying, a student from class 1704 said: “This teaching activity has benefited me a lot. I have a deeper understanding of and greater interest in mechanistic knowledge. At the same time, I am more convinced that it is a correct decision to choose the direction of animal science. I will certainly redouble my efforts to contribute to the development of animal science and animal husbandry of China!"

The success of the teaching activity at the livestock husbandry base enabled the students to have an intuitive contact and understanding of the animal and animal husbandry. At the same time, it also successfully inspired the students' interest in professional knowledge.
