To strengthen the new students' understanding of the history and development of NWAFU for their wonderful life here in the following 4 years, CIE organized a report on the afternoon of October 17th, on the theme of “ History and Development of NWAFU”, given by the Party Secretary of CIE, Mz. Li Haihua. 　　

First of all, Mz. Li introduced the development of NWAFU in the past 84 years in terms of its chronological phases: the establishment of NWAFU with groups of national masters and elites,  the arduous struggle of integrating several research institutes, and the building of the “World-class Agricultural University” after the establishment of the Northwest A&F University.

She vividly introduced the glorious development and the obstacles encountered in different phases. Then she shared with the young audience the inspiring deeds of Academician Zhao Hongzhang and Academician Li Zhensheng, hoping the students to learn from the masters’ devotion and persistence. She also introduced the research accomplishment of NWAFU in apple breeding, wheat breeding and the comprehensive management project of the Loess Plateau, giving a full view of NWAFU’s accomplishment in the new era.

Displaying the photos of excellent graduated CIEers’ daily life, Ms. Li emphasized the significance of moral education and encouraged the students to practice the university motto down-to-earth. Then she interpreted “Da Xue” in Chinese classical text and encouraged the students to establish lofty ideals and beliefs, reminding the students of preparing for the exclusive individualized cultivation model of CIE. 

Through this report furthers the students’ understanding of the glorious development of our university and enlightens their passionate love to our university. They now have a clear understanding of the challenges that the individual will face in the future development. We hope that the freshmen will lead wonderful and fruitful life here, learned and refined.
