Serial Report on Open Teaching Class VII

                   Mr. Cai Chonglin Conducted Class of Principles of Chemical Industry

    At 14:30 pm on May 11, Mr. Cai Chonglin was giving class of Principles of Chemical Industry in classroom N8502, which was offered for the students from Bioengineering base class 1 and 2 of Innovative and Experimental College. In class, multimedia machine functioned as teaching aids and instruction of teacher was associated with self study of students while evaluation was conducted as well.

    Mr. Cai assessed the self study efficiency of students with a ten-minute quiz of seven exercises at the very beginning of the class. Then he asked them to present their home assignment in groups with the aid of PPT and blackboard writing, which furthered their understanding of professional knowledge. Having made the presentation, the students would engage in answering questions raised by the listeners, which enhanced their command of knowledge. Subsequently to the interpretation, questioning and responding of students, Mr. Cai commented on the knowledge, theories involved in the being-discussed questions, as well as how the questions were settled. The class went on smoothly in the intense atmosphere. Last, the teacher briefly reviewed the knowledge points and assigned the homework.

    Mr. Cai took full advantage of advanced teaching aids while combined the self study of students with assessment and instruction teacher offered, which enable the teaching quality assured and fulfilled the teaching tasks in fewer hours. In addition, this practice serves a multiple purpose for not only giving full scope to the initiative of students who are capable in academic study, but also improving their ability of expression.
