On the afternoon of June 3rd, the Final of annual Qihang Cup Invitational Debate Tournament was held in building three on south campus, at which the pro representatives from College of Economics and Management and the con from College of Innovative Experiment enthusiastically engaged in heated debate on the topic “Whether University Should Relax Restriction on Changing Majors”. With score of 1299, our team won the game symbolizing the great success in A& F Qiahng Cup Debate as general champion. Cui Yi from Biotechnology Base Class 091, Du Mingxi from Biotechnology Base Class 101 and Li Wenwen from Bioscience Class 103 were honored Best Debater.

The debate was a collaborative work of Youth League Working Committee and Student Union from College of Economics and Management, College of Science and Department of Foreign Languages, in which 19 debate teams from all colleges of A& F participated. The debate was distinctive for its innovative practice of supplementary confrontation which requires debaters to be equipped with stronger ability. Concentrating on analysis and research, debate team of our college was devoted to the preparation in their spare time, which enhanced their debate capacity and qualified them for the final game.

In the final game, the audience was fascinated with the witty diction and inviting debate of both parties who performed excellently in stages of statement, confrontation, targeting debate, free debate and conclusion. Particularly, our college team constantly pushed the debate to a new high with their close corporation, delicate strategy and witty diction.

Founded in October 2008, our young college debate team has explored the most befitting route for its development. The great success attributes to all the effort of our quick-minded and adaptive debaters whose great success is a credit to our college, not only for the Elite Cup Debate of last year, but also for the Qihang Cup Debate. Once again, they presented the team spirit and educated manners of our college students.
