Busy Holiday, Harvest Time
From: Student Affairs Office           By:      Date: 2015-03-02

What a busy winter holiday! Over 80 students of Y2011, 2012 and 2013 quit their winter holiday for joining in the Undergraduate Innovative Experiment Project and self-conducted experiments in the labs, so as to improve their abilities of research and practice. Y2011 student Gao Peng were very grateful for being accommodated during the holiday, “ Many thanks to A&F for their back-up, to our mentors for their instruction and to the considerate doorkeeper of our student apartment building for her waiting for us late.” Zhang Shuangxi, another student of Y2011 took the holiday a golden chance to do the experiment of double cross of yeast. The intensiveness of time enabled him to be more concentrated on things he was doing. Student Cheng Xinran had been working on the scientific innovation research RSP3 Gene Sequencing and Subcellular Localization during the holiday. “Holiday is a great opportunity for experiments. In addition to the plenty of time, the convenience of anytime communication with experiment partners made it more effective to improve personal experiment ability. Though life was not relaxing as those of other students, it is very cheerful to see the progress.” All these benefits root from the targeted and tailored cultivation program of CIE.

The students, bearing in mind their dreams of research, had a busy but wonderful holiday. While doing experiments and enriching life, they are now harvesting their investment and commitment to their dreams.
