On the evening of October 29th, 2017, CIE students of Grade 2016 attended the report themed on Insect Pathogenic Microorganisms and Insect Drugs, delivered by Professor Wang Dun from the College of Plant Protection.

Professor Wang Dun is dedicated to researches in insect biochemistry and baculovirus molecular biology. He initiated the report from microorganism and elaborated on the essentials of insect studies through caterpillar fungus knowledge. The humorous report lively presented the research content; moreover, it revealed a scientific researcher’s mode of life.

Professor Wang Dun said, “Scientific research is always on the road. Life is in progress, so is the research.” His field trip has covered a round trip from Sichuan, Qinghai, to Tibet. Scientific research is already part of his life.

Chang Xiao from Biotech 1604 was touched by the report, “Professor Wang emphasizes the combination of academic research and real-life problems. It is significant that scientific result can be applied in practices. This research focuses on traditional Chinese medicine, and it shall improve our national confidence.”
