CIE Successfully Held Gratitude Education Gala
From: Student Affairs Office      By: Yin Boyan & Xiong Qipeng      Date: 2017-11-30

To develop students’ gratitude and better themselves in college education, on the evening of November 28th, CIE organized a Gratitude Education Gala.

The audiences first watched the gratitude education video recorded by the Youth League Working Committee, the Student Union, and teachers, which delivered wishes and expectations for the students in Grade 2017. Following was the video made by each dormitory, through which students shared their understanding of gratitude and their grateful feelings for parents, teachers, counsellors, and students. During the interludes, students performed poem recitation and singing, they also shared their photos with parents on NWAFU campus and the ones recording their endeavor in the sports meeting.

Surprise of the gala came from the student parents who were contacted earlier before the gala by the staff. In the videos, some parents repeatedly asked their kids to take care of themselves, some sent their best wishes, others hoped the young could learn to take responsibilities. The plain and sincere words contained the greatest love of parents which deeply touched the audiences. Yang Shuqing from Class 1701 said, “We should care for our parents and develop ourselves with clear objectives. We will reward our parents as best as we can.” Li Shuai, Lei Xiaole, and Gong Zeyu called their parents on the site and expressed their gratefulness, the rest of students also shouted out a big thank you on the phone. At the end of the gala, the staff gave each student a postcard, on which many students wrote their grateful feelings.

Counselor Maio Yuyang for Grade 2017 said, “I hope the students be grateful all the time. Never ignore other’s care. Only do we learn to thank can we go further.” Hei Yueyu from Class 1704 said, “This gala is meaningful. It reminds us to stay grateful on the road of development. I hope there will be more events like this which can help us grow.”
