Innovation Experimental College sponsored the Patriotic Parade Dressup Relay Race: Work Hard to Honor the Promise with Chinese Dream in Mind on May 4th, 2018 for the sake of deepening students’ understanding of the May Fourth Movement and arousing their sense of responsibility and mission.

Thirteen groups of students, in the costumes of the May Fourth Movement and with the slogan boards such as “Get Rid of the National Traitors at Home”, took part in the fierce competition. Running through the office building of Information Engineering College, they reached the second dressup station where they finished the task of picking out the boards of their own groups and answering the questions about the May Fourth Movement. In the third dressup station, students exchanged their costumes and boards within groups in a tacit manner and then made an all-out effort to run towards the finishing point. Going through three challenges of May Fourth knowledge tests, all thirteen groups reached the end point. The race ended as the sun set.

After the activity, Yin Boyan, Secretary of Youth League Working Committee, commented:”The spirit of May Fourth, with its core of patriotism, includes the pioneering spirit of taking on missions and standing up at a critical moment, the overall awareness of integrating into the torrent of national development and the mission awareness of devoting all even lives into the course of the country’s prosperity, national independence and social progress. I hope the activity can help students better realize the spirit of May Fourth.” Zhang Lingzhu, a participant, expressed:”The race helps to deepening our understanding of the Youth Day and its history. I desire to improve myself for the future revival of my country.”

The activity reminds numerous students of cherishing the memory of the older generation, respecting and finding inspiration in the great spirit of May Fourth. The youth needs to keep in mind their mission, take on their responsibility and stay passionate. They should be the driver of the country’s revival and social development with their passion, sweat and action.
