English Drama Contest Rounded Off

On May 13th, the 18th English Drama Contest was successfully held in the lecture hall of the Food Science and Engineering College. The judges were Wang Liping, a foreign language department teacher, Huang Zhiling, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Food Science and Engineering College, Yin Chuansong, secretary of the Youth League Committee of Foreign Language Department, and Yin Boyan, secretary of the Youth League Working Committee of CIE.

To integrate Chinese and Western cultures, and to promote the spirit of the Times, the four teams participating in the competition were all well-prepared and gave the audience a wonderful show with their professional performance and standard pronunciation. It embodies the spiritual outlook of the students who are active, creative, and energetic. The Inside Out team has a novel conception, and integrated the beautiful English songs into emotional dramas, winning a great cheer. The Thunderstorm team impressed the audience with their lively atmosphere and the actor's superb acting. Painted Skin has a rich and complete storyline and strong emotional expression. The students' cross-cutting performance adds more ingredients to the play. We will defeat the cancer! tells the story of a positive girl and cancer fight. The participants’ serious and emotional performance greatly moved the audience. During the game, many interesting interactive sessions were organized on the spot. The students actively participated and the atmosphere was lively.

After serious discussion by the judges, "Thunderstorm" won the first prize, "Painted Skin" the second, and "We will defeat the cancer!" and "Inside Out" the third. This activity stimulated the students' enthusiasm for English learning and their interest in spoken English, and enriched the cultural life at CIEl. At the same time, it provided a stage for students to express their creativity and show their English style, and explored the performance potential of the students.
