CIE Students Pitched in Hospital Volunteer Activity
From: CIE Student Affairs Office      By: Wang Xing      Date: 2018-05-26

In order to further promote and carry forward the volunteerism among young students, CIE organized the Hospital Volunteer Activity on 20th May. This practice was expected to cultivate the outstanding character of college students through youth volunteer service activities, and enahnce their their practical philosophy.

Under the guidance of staff in the Yangling Demonstration Zone Hospital, the volunteers changed their work clothes one after another. After a clear division of tasksr, each person arrived at his assigned position. They provided the patients with guidance of medical services, department consultations, health consultations and other services, thereby alleviating the pressure caused by excessive hospital visits.

During the activity, the volunteers maintained order among the various department clinics and organized the patients to attend the clinic orderly. In the outpatient hall, the patient was instructed to use the pick-up machine to help everyone enter the number. The children at the elevator were reminded of not running around while the elderly was assisted to take the lift. The young volunteers familiarized themselves with the hospital route to help the patients get located as quickly as possible. They talked with patients and gave them comforatble companionship. Volunteers provided corresponding assistance to the patients and also improved the efficiency of the patients' treatment and reduced the burden on the medical staff.

In this activity, many patients were warmed by the services from CIE’s young volunteers. They gave timely hands to the patients in need, guiding them to the right department and talking with them for easing their pressure. They are the ones who did practice the spirit of volunteerism--- “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress”.
