The “Campus Home” Short Drama Contest of the 19th “Campus Spring” Cultural and Art Activity Festival was hosted at North Xiushan Activity Center on the evening of June 12th. The drama team from the Innovation Experimental College wound through the fierce competition into the final of the contest.

Elaborate Composition and Dedicated Rehearsal

The drama The Land Watching tells the story of Lin Dadi who is patriotic, dedicated and looks down upon fame and fortune. With people in his heart, he has devoted themselves to the study of wheat, elaborating NWAFU spirit. The drama was composed by Hou Renjie from Class 1703 and was completed with the joint efforts of the actors and staff. Students spent their spare time rehearsing since one month before the contest. A period of hard practice witnessed the remarkable results and successful entry into the final.

Blooming Youthful Vigor

On the stage, youthful faces and wonderful performance reflect not only the personal inner world but also the history of a country and a nation. Lin Dadi, the character, joined the army to serve for the country the first moment he was informed of the sudden war. Facing the difficult choice between love and cause for people, he chose the latter, unswervingly devoting himself to combating food shortage... After watching the drama, Yang Yang, from Class 1704 of the Innovation Experimental College, said: "the drama seems to bring me back to the age of food shortage and a sense of patriotism and professionalism. We must not forget the scientific researchers like Lin Dadi even in an affluent age because it is their commitment that made the abundant life now."

Singing the Theme and Spreading Positive Energy

Lin Dadi, like his name which means the land, has always been rooted in loessland, committed to people's livelihood. He embodies the "NWAFU Spirit", that is, being rooted in NWAFU, keeping the state in mind, being down to the loess, concerning three rural issues, being willing to endure hardship and pursuing excellence. The spirit will inspire researchers and students to make greater contribution to the agricultural development of our country.

The team won the fourth place with their spectacular performance. This short drama contest contributed to the deeper understanding and inheritance of the "NWAFU Spirit".
