　　报告内容：He will discuss the rise of Chinese entomology from an international perspective and will also talk about future needs, especially the need for a similar rise of Chinese entomological journals after reviewing the success of Zootaxa. 

　　报告人简介：

　　张智强博士，国际知名螨类专家，新西兰皇家研究院土地环境保护研究所终身研究员。1985 年于上海复旦大学生物系获动物学学士学位；1985年于上海复旦大学生命科学院攻读硕士学位 ，并于 1987 年夏转攻博士学位；1988 年转学美国康乃尔大学昆虫系，1993年1 月获美国康乃尔大学昆虫系博士学位。 1992-1994年在美国俄勒冈州立大学完成昆虫学博士后研究。

　　张智强博士创立（国际）系统及应用蜱螨学会，并当选理事长。是《Zootaxa》，《Systematic & Applied Acarology》 ，《Zoosymposia》杂志主编；是《Experimental & Applied Acarology》、Oriental Insects》等10余个杂志编委。发表了 249 篇动物系统分类、行为、生态和害虫综合防治等方面的学术论文与专著，其中专著 10 部，主编编著7部。建立了5 个科级分类单元; 13个属级分类单元; 100 余个种级分类单元。
