On September 19th, our college held talking party named New Life, New Goal, of freshmen and senior students. All undergraduate students of grade 2010 participated in the party. Song Shuang, Yu Hong, Li Zhongxia and other excellent senior students from different disciplines of our college were present. They interpreted in detail the college life and study and kindly offered many valuable advices to the new students.
This party consists of three parts focusing on the study in college, college life, technological innovation and social practice. As to the topic of studying in university, Wang Jinglong, Song Shuang and other students of grade 2008 shares their learning method with the new students, let them know how to quickly adapt to learning method in university, and remind them of the importance of independent learning and ability of technological innovation. Meanwhile, they inform all freshmen that learning English and other curriculum of general education, along with the scientific and practical plan of college study are both important in laying solid foundation for thorough education of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies. Given that the study in our college is characterized by high pressure and intensity, Chen Wei, a student of grade 2008, recommends all freshmen to exercise body for keeping fit. In addition, he emphasizes that to deal with the difficulties and setbacks with optimistic attitudes also matters in life.  
When it comes to technological innovation and social practice, Wang Longchong, a student of grade 2009, introduces the way to reasonably schedule the time, to effectively improve the basic research capacity, to acquire organization and management skills and to enhance interpersonal skills. He encourages all freshmen present to participate in social practice and innovative experiment program of college students to improve the comprehensive quality.
The climax comes when the senior students and freshmen talk about the topics they concern with, such as social practice, paper publishing and studying abroad.
At post-meeting, all new students presented their satisfaction in their eyes. They agree that this talking party provides them with more information of college life and training model of our college. Those valuable experience and proposal benefit them so much that they cannot wait for the next one.
