| To make students know better about the Program of Top Students in Wageningen University and to make preparations for the first class operated by foreign teachers, our college organized the students symposia on the program in the charge of Wageningen University. Wang Jun, the Vice Dean of our college hosted the meeting. Dean of our college---Professor Wang Guodong and Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Communication Division---Qiao Wenjun were present at the meeting. More than 60 students from College of Animal Science, College of Economics and Management and our college attended the meeting.
In the first place, Deputy Director Qiao Wenjun gave an introduction to the program. He pointed out that this program was both an successful exploration to our university in school-running of international cooperation and an great opportunity to students for enjoying the overseas advanced teaching method and contents without being abroad. Combining the experience in management and service of overseas study, Mr. Qiao detailed the strategies and skills in composing English resume and letter of recommendation. He also emphasized some disciplines for foreign affairs in foreign classes. In the second place, Dean of our college, Wang Guodong explained the great significance and requirements of the program. He analysed the various difficulties in the program confronting with the students. He reminded that to enhance the foreign language ability was the primary task for the students, associated with another task of improving communication skills in foreign teacher's classes. The interaction between teachers and students could only be promoted through students efforts, especially in adapting to the western teaching thoughts and different class activities. He also attached great importance to pre-class work and supplementary reading after class, which can finally help students better comprehend the knowledge in class and get that fully absorbed.
Vice Dean of our college, Wang Jun scheduled and informed the relative affairs of the program, including how to fill and submit the form of personal information, how to make CV, E-photo and bilingual academic transcript. Then he arranged the investigation in students taken courses.
Questions that the students were concerned with had been answered and explained at the meeting. This symposia helps the students involved in the program view more clearly the program. All the students present realized that this great opportunity should be seized tightly. They were determined to broaden their international horizon, in the way of being more careful in class and learning the western educational thoughts and teaching methods. |
