On the morning of 12th November, the Y2012 students of CIE had a lively and student-centered class of genetic engineering with the instruction of Mr. Liu Huawei.

Previously, Mr. Liu had already assigned the research topics of animal genetic engineering to the 98 students, who were required to make full preparation for the presentation of their group discussion results.

The class was themed on the genetic engineering, composed of two sessions of ppt presentation and Q&A. The representatives of all 12 groups made the listeners clear about the topic and relative content with the aid of ppt. Their informative and well-illustrated presentation mirrored their brainstorming discussion and independent study competence. Mr. Liu, as the instructor of this class occasionally helped to explained the key points and gave his suggestions to students’ expression as well as the organization and the design of their presentation.

Q&A session was the climax of the class, in which the students communicated enthusiastically about the topic they were interested in or confused with. When the students got stuck in some questions, Mr.Liu came to rescue by giving some instruction and inspiration instead of sharing the answers straightway. The teaching method have the students learn and memorize the knowledge in lively atmosphere. As their knowledge enriched and mind inspired, the students could understand the theory more easily. As Eistain once said, “The school assignment would be taken as gift if the students passion of learning are lightened.”
