The teacher-centered class of traditional teaching methods can no longer work as well as it did before. As the change of world also calling for teaching in accordance with the students’ aptitude, flipped class model came into being timely. To practice and promote the educational philosophy of MOE of China, with full preparation, our college officially launched the flipped class program in April, 2015.
On the afternoon of 14th April, “Flipped Class” meeting was held at cafe of Youren College. Teachers representatives from College of Sciences, Mr. Guo Mancai, Mr. Wang Guodong, Mr. Zhao Xiaonong and Mr. Zheng Lifei were invited. CIE Party Secretary Mr. Ou Wenjun who served as the host attended the meeting, along with CIE Dean Mr. Chen Yuchun and Associate Dean Mr. Wang Xiaoping
All teachers at meeting aired their ideas of “flipped class” and introduced the advanced teaching experience of domestic and overseas universities. Flipped class, a brand-new teaching system wold be a worth try, since it will greatly help to solve the unsettled problems in traditional teaching. Students instead of teachers will dominate the teaching and learning, which requires intensive communication between teachers and students. The teachers are supposed to redesign the teaching plan and class time allocation. The roles of two teaching parties play will be flipped. Teachers no longer dominate the class, but to serve as instructors. CIE has gained considerable experience in appointed teaching that could be applied to the new model. It is suggested that the promotion would work well when it starts with a few chapters of the course.
CIE will be as supportive as usual for the reform of teaching and education. We will communicate with the relative departments and divisions of our university for the promotion. We will strive to release the first group of excellent “flipped class” curriculum ahead of any other colleges and departments.
