“Trouble spurs changes for development. Predicament means opportunities and hopes when the students could change their way of study and improve their abilities to learn.” 

On the afternoon of March 10th, CIE held a meeting at which all CIE senior staff, faculties of college teaching affairs office and student affairs office talked to the problem students, symbolizing the launching of CIE study assist project. 

The host of meeting and CIE associate dean Mr. Wang Xiaoping said that the project aimed to help the students out of study troubles and catch up with their fellows. Secretary of teaching affairs office Mr. Ma Chuan reported the information of flunk and raised three levels of study trouble “Red, Orange and Yellow”.

CIE dean Mr. Chen Yuchun and Party Secretary Mr. Ou Wenjun proposed their suggestions on them improvement of current situation. Mr. Chen pointed out that the education philosophy of our college is to cultivate talents of excellence in agriculture and forestry. Though the students’ needs are subject to change, CIE sticks to the student-oriented philosophy. The students’ choice are accepted and encouraged. To give students constructive instruction for their long-term plan of study, research and profession always come first in the training program. Though the chance of graduate recommendation are gloomy to the students who failed their courses, the opportunity for postgraduate entrance exam, decent jobs and even being an entrepreneur are waiting in front if they keep working hard. The growth and development of all students would be the top concerns of our college. On the part of students, they are encouraged to reflect and plan their life more rationally.

Mr. Ou Wenjun emphasized in this speech that, formation of good learning habit and the improvement of learning abilities are the primary mission of a student. He encouraged the student to estimate themselves reasonably and build up confidence from communicating with the faculties of CIE. He also suggested the members of student union to give a hand to the student in trouble. 

CIE has always attached great importance to the study assist for problem students. The college had made systematic analysis of the data long before the beginning of new term. Meeting had been organized as well to find out effective solutions to the current problems.
