On Oct 21st, the first general course Improving your English in Speaking and Listening presided over by A&F foreign teacher Nathan Lim commenced. The course is themed China-USA cross-cultural communication, composed of eight sections of Introductions��Story Time��Life Skills��The World��Health��Ethics��Food and Wrap Up. The course is expected to improve the students’ ability to communicate and to broaden their international view. Two classes with 30 students in each, from CIE and Department of Foreign Languages will have their 2-hour lesson twice a week from week 8-15.

To guarantee the course delivered successfully, A&F International Cooperation and Exchange Division gave their strong support, while CIE and Department of Foreign Languages worked collaboratively on the teaching schedule. The taster lesson had been organized on Oct 16th which had the teaching content, methods and aims known to all students who were to be well-prepared.

Youren College is expected to work as another platform for innovative talents cultivation to improve the students’ overall development in innovative ability and comprehensive abilities. Therefore, general courses and various cultural activities are to be organized in which general education, ideological and political education, humanity literacy and research innovation education play dominant role.
