Series lectures for freshmen on Better Understanding of Discipline, Clear Goal of Academy was well organized and commenced on Oct 26th, to better their understanding of different disciplines for their sustainable development in academic life. Academic mentors of freshmen Mr. Zhou Jianjun and Mr. Chenggong were invited to give designated lectures.

In Classrrom N8403 on north campus, the academic mentor of 2012 Bio-technology Base Class, Doctor Zhou Jianjun gave a lecture on How to Live Your College Life, in which he analyzed the proper way of study in college and compared the college life to that of in middle school. He encouraged the freshmen to adjust to the new life as soon as possible. In addition, he shared his ideas of study with the students, that self-study was as important as the in-class study, so the students were supposed to take opportunity of the libraries and labs to improve their practice ability.

In Classroom N8409 on north campus, the academic mentor of 2012 Bio-Science Experiment Class, Doctor Chenggong gave a lecture on the general situation and development of transgenic animal, focusing on the development, general situation, the utilization in industry and life and the problems of transgenic animal research. The lecture broadened the students view, offered them a chance to know about the research and utilization of animal science, especially of the transgenic technology.

All the students spoke highly of the lectures which were informative and inviting. In addition, the lectures played vital roles in their academic development as a clear guidance in their college life.
