On the afternoon of 14th Oct, the college opening ceremony of 2012 was held in Xiushan Hall on north campus. More than 200 people attended the ceremony, including College Dean Professor Wang Guodong, other college leaders, representative of follow colleges, Associate Dean of Forestry College Mr. Li Zhouqi, students of 2012 and their academic mentors. The ceremony was hosted by the Associate Dean and College Party Secretary Professor Chen Yuchun.

At 3:00 p.m., the solemn national anthem commenced the opening ceremony of the 2012 students. On behalf of the college, Dean Professor Wang Guodong addressed the ceremony, introducing the development of college, the training program, education specialty and mechanism. He also expected that the students should be with grateful heart to their parents, teachers and the society. In addition, he encouraged the students to be ambitious but diligent, practical but innovative, to make oneself a talented man with moral virtue.

As the representative of cooperative college, Dean of Forestry College extended his congratulation and warm welcome to the new students. He also spoke highly of the senior students of our college that their excellence in study and personal ability would be good examples for the new students. To follow the college motto of being knowledgeable and capable, the students were expected to be modest, studious, devoted A&F student with great foresight.

At the ceremony, Vice Party Secretary of our college Mr. Qu Yunfeng announce the resolution on the appointment of academic mentor and mentor assistants of student 2012, to whom the leaders present awarded the letter of appointment.

Senior students representative Liu Yue from 2009 Business Management class shared his experience with the new students. He encourage the students to stick to being tough in front of the setbacks and difficulties, to knowing your goal clearly, to accumulating our knowledge and experience, to being persistent, then one can make successful student out of a common one.

Representative of new students, Xue Yuhan from Bio-tech Base Class 121 gave a speech at the ceremony. She uttered their hope for college life and determination of hard working. In addition, with tightened right hand raised, they vowed, to be diligent and studious, to be careful and innovative, to be ambitious and honesty, to be persistent and brave, to keep practicing the university motto all the time.

The ovation closed the curtain of the ceremony. As the new students will start their learning and life in our college, we extend our warm welcome and best wishes to them.
