On November 28, A&F Party Secretary Zhang Guangqiang, A& F Executive Deputy Party Secretary Wang Wanzhong, A& F Vice President Wang Yuejin inspected our college for further understanding of college teaching and talents cultivation. The inspection team also consists of leaders from A & F Party Secretary President Office, Academic Affairs Office, Propaganda Department, Personnel Office, Graduate School, Office for International Cooperation and Exchange, Student Affairs Office, Finance Department, and Policy Research Department. All staff of our college and some teacher representatives attended the symposium.
 
The symposium was held in college multimedia classroom. College Dean Professor Wang Guodong briefed the college development, focusing on the analysis of teachers’ initiative in teaching reform and obstacles in education of students’ individuality. Meanwhile, he put forward some suggestion in regard of the evaluation of teaching load, the construction of primary teaching organization and the support for development of disadvantaged disciplines. Then, College Executive Associate Dean Professor Chen Yuchun shared his ideas concerning appointed teaching, international education, quality-oriented education and ability training of the student, followed by his detailed report on the reform of general education curriculum, intention of college system construction and the development of student individuality. The report College Associate Dean Wang Jun made mainly covered the Honor Students Program of Wageningen University, the promotion of bilingual class and teachers’ initiative in teaching reform. College Vice Party Secretary Qu Yunfeng showed our effort in mentor program, preparation for college system and the operation of college system and mechanism.

Teacher representatives Huang Lili, Song Weining, Chen Yongyi, Zheng Huiling, Zheng Lifei,Li Na and Yan Xianhui share their perspectives related to the scientific research training of undergraduate students, the promotion of small class teaching, the construction of teaching team, the reform in credit system, the enhancement of teacher-centered teaching system, the optimization of education program and the release of students academic burden. They, at the same time showed their recognition of our efforts in philosophy and practice in promoting educational reform, our considerate service for teaching and spoke highly of students’ competence of our college.

Party Secretary Zhang Guangqiang listened to the reports of all speakers with concentration and put down some notes at times. He also interacted with the speakers over specific topics. Executive Deputy Party Secretary Wang Wanzhong, A& F Vice President Wang Yuejin, leaders from Academic Affairs Office and Students Affairs Office exchanged ideas with other people present over the selection, management and recruitment approach.

In his concluding speech, Mr. Zhang spoke highly of the remarkable achievement our college had made and authorized our college the experimental field of university in teaching and educational reform. Therefore, he called on other departments of A& F of their strong support in finance and field for constant exploration and innovation of our college, to promote university-wide our experience in education reform. On the other hand, he proposed that our college figure out the logic order for cohesion of every step in work, work out sound training program in long-run for better command of cultivation regulation, constantly promote the education and teaching reform for scientific curriculum and stick to the bond of generation and individual education for the exploration of college system. He would keep positive eyes on our further development and prosperous future, which in turn called for the adherence to emancipating the mind, broadening horizon and more calculated move.
