On October 11th, Director of College Affairs Office, S.H.HO College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, visited Innovative and Experimental College and attended the symposium for further understanding on college affairs of both parties. Attendees of this meeting were Director of International Corporation and Exchange Davison Professor Luo Jun, Dean of Innovative and Experimental College Professor Wang Guodong, Party Secretary and Associate Dean of Innovative and Experimental College Professor Chen Yuchun, along with the authorities of A&F Academic Affairs Division, superintendent of A&F Student Affairs Division and staff of Innovative and Experimental College.

Mr. LAU Yee-ki introduced the history and status quo of college system of Hong Kong and the detailed information about S.H.HO College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, covering the management system, faculties, student selection, administration and students’ daily life. S. H. Ho College was established in May 2006 with generous donations from The S. H. Ho Foundation Limited. The college admitted its first cohort of students in August of 2010 and will accommodate a full complement of 600 students on a fully residential and communal dining basis in 2012. The College is a home away from home for its members. Through full residence and whole person education programmes, students will advance in the four virtues of the College motto—culture, morals, devotion and trustworthiness. The College aims at nurturing students with a refined appreciation of culture, high moral standards and a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.

The students who are admitted to S. H. Ho College do not just enter a college. They find a home away from home. Adopting a fully residential and communal dining system, the college is home to 600 students. Throughout their undergraduate studies, all students will live in one of two spacious modern hostels and will dine with the master and other members of the college three times per week, which establishes lively atmosphere and means great opportunity for further understanding among all members through the communicate about the study and life with the Dean and other college staff and students.

Dean of our college reported the university’s plan on college system to be conducted in College of Innovation and Experiment while Associate Dean of our college Professor Chen Yuchun expressed our intention of cooperation with S.H.HO College. In addition, the two institutions detailed the discussion of corporation and reached a consensus preliminarily. Our college will work out specific plan for further communication and corporation.

On behalf of A&F, Director Luo extended warm welcome to Mr. LAU Yee-ki for his visit and expressed sincere thanks to him for him sharing experience and offering suggestion. Mr. Luo also expressed our support for mutual understanding and further corporation.
