Themed on To Know Your University, the first class of Year 2016 CIE students orientation program kicked off on the afternoon of August 21st. Class academic mentor assistants serves as hosts/hostesses, while the academic mentors presided over the class. As suggested by the theme, the activity was designed to help the students adapt to the college life and pitch into the military training. Notably, the event was greatly honored by the presence of NWAFU president Mr. Sun Qixin.  

The unexpected encounter with President Sun on the first class means more than a surprise to all the new students. The freshmen of year grade 2016 were moved greatly by President Sun’s greetings---Did you come with parents? Are they back yet? Have you been here before? How is the life here?... All words showed the hearty concern of this honorable guest. Having heard some student taking Life Science and Technology Base Class of NWAFU as most desirable class, president Sun gave him the sincere congratulations. He said, being goal-oriented and sparing no efforts to fulfill the personal dream were sorts of nobilities, wish you all fruitful college life at NWAFU.   

CIE enrolled 100 students this year and groups them into four mini classes. We then invited associate professor Zheng Xueli of Forestry College, Mr. Ma Pengda of Life Science College, associate professor Li Shaojun and Mz. Zhang Minjuan of Animal Science College as academic mentors. It was they who offered the inspiring first class to the new students.

Leaded by CIE Dean Mr. Ou Wenjun and Party Secretary Mz. Li Haihua, all CIE staff joined the first classes as well. Secretary of CIE Student Affairs Office, Han Rui introduced to the students all the staff and the areas of responsibility of each office. On the behalf CIE, Mr. Ou Wenjun made the welcoming speech. He pointed out that, CIE is a place that combining the best resources of our university. All the academic mentors are experienced in teaching and students management. Youren College will guarantee a comfortable life for all the students. Without the interference of external noise, the students are expected to develop themselves in good character, quality, morality and behavior.
