To make the scholarship into full play as a stimuli in students study and enhance the function of comprehensive evaluation mechanism, and to ensure the scholarship distribution a just, fair and open practice, CIE held the Y2016 Scholarship Appraisal Evening on October 12th. The Panel were form teachers, student counselors and students representatives of CIE. They will evaluate the 45 applicants for National Scholarship, National Encouragement Scholarship, NWAFU President Scholarship and Wang Tongchuan Encouragement Scholarship.

In the two sessions of presentation and Q&A, the candidates were required to demonstrate their performance in terms of morality, professional study, involvement in scientific research competition, recreational and sports activities and personal plan on future life and study. Though short as 4 minutes for each candidate, they displayed their excellence with the aid of pictures and well-organized speeches. From joining in the League and Student Union, volunteer association, university clubs, to their excellence in CET-4, CET-6, VFP, and College English Contests, they showed the panel and audience their commitment and passion in collge life. The awards they won, the activities they devoted to, the invention and patents they made and the SCI papers they published were the most persuasive evidence of their brilliance. At the questions raised by the judges on their morality, behavior, analytic ability, interpersonal communication and organizational coordination ability, the candidates were very responsive and quick-minded.

Following the two sessions was secret ballot. According to the scores of presentation and over-all evaluation, the name list was finalized and to be publicized. 9 students are to received the National Scholarship, 4 National Encouragement Scholarship, 4 NWAFU President Scholarship and 3 Wang Tongchuan Encouragement Scholarship.

The scholarship appraisal is a stage to demonstrate the brilliance of the CIE students, serving as an windmill to have the scholarship function well as an encouragement.
