Who warmed the heart of CIE freshmen on these cold autumn mornings? The answer was soon revealed on the playground of north campus when the morning of September 1st witnessed CIE Party Secretary Li Haihua, and Deputy Secretary Pei Zhichao visiting the Y2017 students and their military training coach.

Military training, as one section of freshmen orientation programme, plays a significant role in polishing students’ perseverance and developing their sense of cooperation and patriotism. The students followed the command of their coach, showing their warm welcome and hearty respect with uniform actions. The CIE heads inquired the coach about students’ performance and extended there sincere thanks for the coaches’ devotion.

Mz. Li Haihua delivered a speech on behalf of CIE. She pointed out that military training was the very first compulsory course for all year one college students to strengthen the willpower and to polish their characters. It was also a new start of independent life----self-managed, self-educated and self-served. “The moment joining the CIE family marks your identity change from a family apple to an ordinary member of new group. I hope you will carry forward the spirits of benevolence, cooperation and determination in your life. Your sense of national defense and security and your awareness of discipline will both get enhanced. To be independent, to be passionate, to be optimistic, to be tough and to be the best YOU!”she said in her speech.   

Last, Mz. Li and Mr. Pei sent many gifts and best wished to the students who were greatly encouraged by the visit and remarks of CIE leaders.
