On the evening of September 29th, Mz. Li Haihua, secretary of the Party branch of CIE, made a report Be a Qualified College Students for 2017 undergraduates in the multimedia classroom on the first floor of our college. This orientation activity is to help new students get a full understanding of NWAFU and CIE, in consequence to adapt to the university life.
Mz. Li introduced to the new comers CIE ‘ training model in terms of its special curriculum and achievements in teaching reform, research and talent cultivation. “ As a CIEer, you will be provided with more chances. So, in addition to knowledge in your academic field, what other qualities in your mind are essential for you being a social member?” Mz. Li raised the thought-provoking question to the young audience. She informed the students, “The college student should hold the belief that humanities spirits and scientific thoughts are equally important. Therefore, in addition to expertise in their major, research competence and critical thinking, a qualified students is required to be equipped with humanities, social science literacy, team spirit, lifelong learning ability and adaptive capacity.
Mz. Li concluded her report with her high hopes for new members of CIE family: to love CIE as they love their family, and make it a convention and virtue; to know well the college culture and to love CIE psychologically and practically, to keep in mind the college motto and practice it as a life and work principle; to be an excellent CIEer striving to practice the socialist core values.
This informative and inspiring report delivered in simple terms play a guiding role in students’ growth. It helps the students improve personality cultivation and work out rational and feasible plan for college life.
