On the evening of October 11th, CIE held the grade conference in the south conference hall at Xiushan Activity Center in NWAFU north campus. CIE deputy secretary of CPC general branch Pei Zhichao presented report for 2015 and 2016 students and proposed that students should undertake their responsibilities for the country. 

Pei Zhichao started the report with socialist core values and expounded his views on four aspects including patriotism, devotion, integrity and fraternization: under the new historical conditions, inheritance and development of the patriotism tradition are practically significant to inspiring the nation's enthusiasm and integrating the nation’s power. Patriotism has been a long-standing tradition and spiritual support for the nation. Young college students should realize the importance of patriotism and fulfill themselves. 

“Along the road of growth, a goal, a positive attitude, a striving spirit, and perseverance are all necessary …” Pei Zhichao shared his life experiences and inspired the students to study hard and overcome difficulties with vigor. He said, students should pay more attention to international science and technology updates and establish the awareness of elite; various approaches should be exploited to broaden the visions; with an all-round development, individual will be able to make more progress in academic study and scientific research. At the end of the report, Pei Zhichao mentioned the influence of fraternization on personality and the importance of integrity in scientific research and interpersonal communication. 

This patriotic report provoked thoughts among the audience. Yu Zhiqiang from Class 153 who majors in biotechnology said: “This is an age which we cannot fail to live up to. With explosive information resources in each and every field, we have the chance to realize any thought. What really matters is if we are willing to make an attempt. We have no reason to refuse or hesitate in such an excellent situation. We should seize the moment and involve in China’s development trend. I believe all of us will make a difference.” Zhao Yuting from Class 162 who majors in biotechnology said: “I benefited a lot from this report. It made me realize that from now on, I should pay attention to my international vision and keep a close eye on scientific research update home and abroad. I will prepare myself for bigger tasks ahead on the road of scientific research.”
