Youren College’s 4th Innovation Training Program of Poster Show and Competition was launched in late October this year with over 90 project groups from 9 colleges signing up. After the phases of pre-competition guidance, acquisition of works, and preliminary contest, 44 groups from College of Food Science and Engineering, College of Encology, Innovation Experimental College, College of Horticulture, College of Plant Protection, and College of Water Resources and Architectural Engineering entered the final competition. To help the contestants get prepared for the finale, on the afternoon of November 3rd 2017, CIE invited Professor Zheng Huiling from College of Veterinary Medicine to give lecture on how to make high-level posters. 

The lecture was initiated with three questions: What occasion will require posters? What is an attractive poster? What does a good poster include? Within the interactive lecture, Professor pointed out that poster is an effective tool to demonstrate research status quo and results, and that making poster is a necessary communication method in scientific research. 

Professor Zheng also took several entries as examples to show what makes a good poster. Simply put, a good poster should be concise and well designed; textual and image information should be as comprehensive as possible; key points should be highlighted; school logos can also be added so as to distinguish the poster from others. 

At the end of the lecture, Professor Zheng praised the entries and hoped that the contestants could achieve better results through further modifications. 

The lecture was beneficiary and laid the groundwork for the final competition on November 12th.
