On the morning of May 9th, Yang Donsheng, Assistant Dean of Shenzhen BGI College and Wang Linpeng, Office Director of the college visited Innovation Experimental College for the co-training of students, promoting deep cooperation in talent training. Li Haihua, Secretary of Party General Branch of Innovation Experimental College, Liu Tianjun and Wan Xiaoping, Assistant Deans of the college as well as the college’s Teaching Secretary and Student Affairs Secretary took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, Secretary Li Haihua first introduced the basic situation of school running, characteristics, main practices and measures of talent training. Committed to cultivating top-notch innovative talents in agriculture and forestry, Innovation Experimental College has implemented the “2+X” training mode and formulated a “tutorial system” for undergraduates, creating a whole-processed training system for scientific research quality and innovation ability. The college has also carried out in-depth teaching reform and international cooperation in school running. With the construction of Youren College as the starting point, a comprehensive education system has formed.

Assistant Dean Yang Dongsheng introduced in detail the research advantages of BGI and the implementation of the co-training project with other high-level colleges and universities at home. An in-depth discussion about the training mode, student development platform, student development prospects, curriculum design, credit judgement, graduation thesis, student management and other aspects in regard to the co-training was conducted.

After years of exploration and practice, BGI has established a highly efficient innovative talent training system. So far, BGI has cooperated with more than 30 colleges and universities, co-training bachelors, masters and doctors through the “2.5+1.5+X” or “3+1+X” mode.
