To further optimize the talent training model, CIE will take good advantage of the experience of training top-notch innovative talents from fellow universities in China to improve the educational quality. On May 31st, 2018, CIE Associate Deans, Liu Tianjun and Wang Xiaoping, CIE student counselor Miao Yuyang, and teaching secretary Liu Binzhe visited China Agricultural University to learn their experience in talent training of Science Experiment Class.

The China Agricultural University's Science experiment Class was established in 2003, consisting of two majors---Life science and Information Science. Their educational philosophy are, the junior students cultivation focusing on general education and fundamental education, aims at enriching students’ knowledge and mobilizing their interest in study; while the senior students cultivation on the professional education based on their research direction, aims at improving their innovative awareness and research ability. This training programme is expected to provide highly qualified personnel with broad fundamental knowledge, strong sense of innovation, high scientific research competence, self-learning and practical abilities for our country. This will lay solid foundation for students’ sustainable development when they are equipped with international competitiveness.

On the morning of May 31st, CIE delegate attended the meeting organized by Deputy Chief of Academic Affairs Division of China Agricultural University, Fu Lizhong, Tan Yuzhi, Lin Han, and the head of the Institute of Information and Communication. Mr. Fu Lizhong gave a detailed introduction to the training mode, management system, selection and deselection, mentoring system, international exchange, scholarship assessment, and student management of the Science Experiment Class at China Agricultural University. The two sides discussed common issues such as development ideas, model innovation, teaching operations and management, and curriculum setting. Through exchanges, the two parties have reached a consensus that we must adapt to the new situation and focus on the characteristics and quality of top-notch innovative talents training, to promote the reform of top-notch innovative talents training model. We must focus on the development of students and attract more high-quality students by mentoring system and disciplines.

On the afternoon of the 31st, Associate Dean of Biology College He Qun, the faculty of their Teaching Affairs Office and the head teachers held an informal discussion for CIE visitors. Mr. He Qun introduced the Science Experiment Class (Life Sciences), the scale of education, the training program, the selection of teachers, professional diversion, and the training of science and innovation. The two sides conducted full exchanges on education characteristics, selection mechanisms, teaching methods, and student development and other aspects. The two parties agreed that they must give full play to the academic advantages and fully respect the students' individual development needs, and create outstanding talents with strong basic knowledge, strong sense of innovation, and high quality scientific research.

This visit closely follows the new issues faced by the college's development and top-notch innovative talents cultivation. We have benefited much from the exchange and communication.  In the future, CIE will continue to focus on cultivating top-notch innovative talents, to improve and optimize the cultivation mechanisms for higher quality of personnel training, making more contributions to the “Double-First-Class” construction of NWAFU.
