To strengthen the teaching administration, enhance the monitoring system of teaching quality and promote the teaching reforms, the CIE set up the second Teaching Steering Group (TSG). On the afternoon of May 26, CIE held the appointment ceremony, nominating Zhang Linsheng (professor of the College of Life Science), Wei Xiaomei (professor of the College of Water Resources and Architectural Engineering), Liu Shudong (professor of the College of Agronomy), Wang Jing (professor of the College of Economics and Management) and Lian Po (associate professor of the College of Sciences) as the second generation of the TSG.

The heads of CIE and faculty of administration office and teaching office were present at the meeting. Wang Xiaoping, the deputy dean of CIE, detailed the profile, talent training goal, “2+X” training mode, teaching task agreement system, undergraduate-postgraduate integrated education and talent training requirements. According to him, the effective supervision and guidance of the previous TSG  have greatly standardized the CIE’s teaching quality management and helped teachers improve their professional skills, which played an important role in enhancing the overall teaching quality of the College. He also expressed the wish that the new generation of the TSG could take into consideration the College’s characteristics of the talent training when supervising, examining and directing the classroom teaching, scientific research training and graduation thesis quality, thus contributing ideas to the talent training of the College.

Liu Tianjun, the dean of the College, elaborated on the College orientation, characteristics on the training of top talents and training stages. He also stressed the significance of the teaching supervision as to promoting the teaching reforms, teaching quality and talent training of the College. The final speech was given by Li Haihua, the general Party branch secretary who put emphasis on the type of excellent students that the College has been trying to cultivate. These students are full of patriotism as well as concern over agriculture, rural areas and farmers, and with all-round development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education. He hoped that the supervisors could pay close attention to the proper guidance that the teachers shall give to the students during the teaching process.

Next, the supervisors present at the meeting shared their thoughts respectively. Considering the features of their own professions and the key tasks of the College, they delivered the ideas on how to better the supervision and the focus in work, and provided reasonable suggestions on the talent training of the College. At last, the members of the leading body issued the appointment letters to the supervisors.
