The rising sun lighten the eastern sky while the first ray wake up the sleeping world and mobilize the young students. On August 27th, CIE students gathered on the basketball court before heading to their first class at NWAFU. 

Led by their military instructors, counselors and class assistant, the new students marched forward in an orderly way. A student of 21st company was left behind, but she insisted on jogging forward instead of quitting, and finally caught up with the troops. With the help of the traffic police, the students quickly went through the intersection of every traffic flow at 8 am and arrived at the stadium safely.

The 2018 NWAFU Undergraduate Opening Ceremony and Military Training Mobilization Meeting kicked off to the solemn national anthem. 

The reciting speeches recalled the history and culture of Yangling, and also cast a mysterious and attractive veil on it; the instructive tuition, helping the students to make sensible plan for a goal-oriented life; the touching and profound stories demonstrating the university’s spirit. President Wu Pute put forward three requirements for the 2018 freshmen: "Change the role as soon as possible, adapt to the university life and arrange time reasonably; stick to the duty, lay solid foundation and prioritize study over any other affairs; to be strong physically, be regular in daily routine and be optimistic.” 

“ Cherish the time and pitch in the study, and set out to your dreaming terminal with hope.” This is the expectation of Y2018 student counselor Zhang Shicheng to the new students. He said that freshmen of this year are the first students he taught, and he saw strong independence and self-discipline youth in them. He believed that the students will get stronger, more refined, more energetic and confident after the two-week military training life. They will fully carry forward the CIE spirit and successfully finished their first course in the university with passion. 

Some freshmen parents attended the Y2018 Undergraduate Opening Ceremony and Military Training Mobilization Meeting. They listened carefully to the speeches of the presenters and responded with warm applause from time to time. The eyes of parents are full of expectation, which is both an earnest hope for the new students and appreciation to our university.

After the conference, Huang Yiju, a CIE student, told his class assistant with excitement: "I have a deeper understanding of our university and Yangling from the speeches of teachers and senior grade students. I am proud of being a CIEer and NWAFUer. I will take good opportunity of my four-year college life and the help of teachers and peers to make greater progress. Military training is the first course of the university, which is of great significance to us. I will work hard in the two-week military training and pass the first level of the university."
