On November 6th, 2020, led by Ms. Ma Hongyu, the associate professor of College of Economics and Management, all students of CIE Y2019 Business Administration Elite Class, went to Yangling Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park for study tour.

The students were shown the introduction video of the park and learned about some facts of the part, including the purpose of its establishment, specific functions, achievements and plan for future development. The students were completely fascinated with the park and had stronger expectations for the following activities.

Afterwards, the staff showed the students the "Network of National Real-time Operation Platform for Swine Industry" developed by Beijing Nongxin Interconnection Technology Group Co., Ltd. This big data platform comprehensively integrates all partner-companies' information on swine breeding, transportation, and business transactions. The students were so amazed at the advanced technology that they were greatly inspired. They proposed the ideas of “extending the core technology of the big data platform into various agricultural industries” and “analyzing and processing the collected data to obtain more data with commercial value.”  

After the first session of study tour, the students came to the “Affection for Agriculture” -- Creative Agricultural Museum. Affection for Agriculture is an independently operated company of Jingnong Fucang, mainly engaged in agriculture-related cultural and creative gifts and  packaging. The company staff introduced in detail various products such as egg carving and painting, seed painting, butterfly-specimen flowers, creative noodles and so on. These products are uniquely and exquisitely crafted which ingeniously combine the natural beauty of agricultural products with culture. The students couldn’t help giving their exclamation of amazement.

Last, the students visited Yangling Jinhua Ecological Technology Co., Ltd.. The company business mainly focuses on soil testing and improvement, and has won various awards for innovation and entrepreneurship. The staff also showed the students the company’s laboratory, in which the soil testing and improvement are conducted through the integrated use of different areas with multiple functions. The soil sample will go through a standardized process before its “Physical Examination Report” completed. Then the clients will receive a customized program which enable them to take measures for soil-improvement accordingly.“This company is a successful example of knowledge realization. Applying the knowledge learned from class to entrepreneurial practice, not only brought significant benefits to the company, but also contributed to the soil improvement for the society. ".

This study tour is part of the course Agricultural Economics taught by Ms. Ma Hongyu. The tour familiarizes the students with the knowledge of agricultural science and technology, and deepens their understanding of how and why Yangling has been playing the role of national agricultural high-tech industry demonstration zone and enjoys the reputation of Silicon Valley of Agriculture. The students expressed that they would devote greater enthusiasm to the study of agricultural economy, and will go further and steadily on the road of agricultural development.
