On the afternoon of November 11th, the 4th Innovation Training Program of Poster Show and Competition was held on Youren Culture Square. The program, held by the NWAFU Teaching Affairs Division and sponsored by CIE , aimed to promote the NWAFU students’ academic communications on scientific innovation, demonstrate the progress of college student innovation training, stimulate students’ interest in scientific research, and create a good learning atmosphere.

In his opening speech, Vice President of NWAFU Wei Gehong said, “ The training on scientific research will greatly inspire the students in the research field, improve their abilities and qualities correspondingly. Higher education has always attached great importance to the integration of text book knowledge and real practice. The scientific training, therefore, plays a key role in improving the talents quality. This annual event is more than a contest, but an opportunity for academic communication, which if of far-reaching significance.” Next, the mentor representative professor Zhang Linsheng’s speech covered the importance of this event to the talent cultivation, in terms of its influence on students’ research ability, thinking ability and practicing abilities.

15 experts from College of Encology, College of Food Science and Engineering, College of Chemistry and Pharmacy, College of Life Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Animal Science and Technology, College of Horticulture and College of Agronomy served as the panel members. Leaders from Teaching Affairs Division, Student Affairs Division, the Youth League Committee and heads of other departments also attended the event.

The scale of this year’s competition is much bigger than before. Of 87 entries from 14 different colleges competed for the admission of final contest, 44 of which succeeded in winning the chance. In the two-hour event, all panel members were carefully introduced the research design and results, who then gave constructed advice and high comments to the students. It is a consensus among the judges that this year’s works are even better than those of before.

This activity is not only a contest, but a real training put in the form of contest. The students have their understanding ability and expression ability greatly improved through taking part in the activity. It also break the ice between the students and the teachers, and also that of the students from different year grade, different major and different colleges.
