Who are the hidden figures at this critical moment when the whole nation is heavily engaged in the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus? They are the ones who overcome all difficulties and fully plunge into the preparation for running of new term, they are the ones who make great contributions to the teaching of new term in spite of the isolated life and the shortage of hardware and internet, they are the ones who do their best to implement the deployment of NWAFU and CIE. Behind the smooth going of the new term are the devotion of all faculty of CIE teaching affairs office.

2019 is the first year in which CIE expand the enrollment. The number of students who are to make major selection reaches as high as 279. It is by no means an easy job to handle the management of 18 majors selection. However, CIE has beautifully addressed all problems in advance, making plans, organizing meetings and familiarizing the students with relative information. Anxiety, aimlessness, hesitation, anxiety, all these problems of students and their parents gave rise to more difficulties to the work. And the faculty of CIE Teaching Affairs Office and the students instructors turned themselves to the hotline receptionists and experts. The inquiries flooded into from all over the country. With dialect or accent, the voice embraced the concern of all student parents. Tough as the job would be, the faculty gave very detailed answer to each question, patient and professional. The two-week “battle” finally kicked off, as 279 students’ major selection successfully completed.

Up to know, CIE enjoys 582 undergraduate students of 10 different majors. And the teachers are from different colleges of NWAFU. Due to the complexity of this situation, Mr. Liu Binzhe of CIE Teaching Affairs Office has ended his winter vocation as early as the eighth day of lunar new year. First, he helped the teachers to set up QQ learning group and invited the students in. He had to repeatedly checked the students schedule because their timetable varies greatly. Day and night, Mr. Liu overworked for almost two weeks. Mz. Huang Ni, another teacher of the same office and the CIE student assistant, checked and refined the students’ personalized timetable repeatedly. It was they who guaranteed the new term teaching started on time. Besides, Mr. Ma Chuan, another hidden figure of CIE, kept tracing and collecting the problems of and suggestions for the online teaching. Without their efforts, without their hard work around clock, or without their selfless commitment, the orderly and effective teaching won’t be possible.

This outbreak of the epidemic disease reduced the routine to tough jobs. Only with super courage, determination and perseverance can the jobs be finished with satisfaction. We firmly believe that, the spring is coming soon and the team spirit of CIE will brighten the life of all its members forever.
