On the afternoon of September 15th, the CIE preliminary for the NWAFU 21st National English Speaking Contest for College Students was held in the smart classroom of our college.
The contestant was required to draw the topic on-site and then was allowed 20 minutes’ preparation for impromptu speech.Calmly and decently, the contestants showed their talents in oral English and public speaking. Their standard pronunciation and the skillful use of vocal varieties made their speeches impressive and inspiring. The rich vocabulary, the well-integrated sentence patterns, and the fluent expression were all manifestation of their high language proficiency. The professional judges were very responsible, giving detailed comments and feedback to each contestant, and informative suggestions for improvement, which benefited the students greatly. With full discussion and the reference to the marks, the top two stood out, Yang Kaiqiao from Elite Class 2101 of Water Conservancy, and Li Yixuan from Biology Base Class 2003. They will soon participate the NWAFU preliminary.
