On the afternoon of May 26th, an inspiring flipped class of Organic Chemistry was conducted in No. 8 building. From the organic chemistry’s background information, development history, advantages and disadvantages, application prospects, to its impact on people and natural society, the student were invited to share their understanding and knowledge in class in groups. This flipped class was organized and conducted by Mr. Wang Junru who has been fully dedicated to the teaching reform for years.

The topics selected by the students vary greatly, including the plant growth and development, and the human diseases such as depression and Alzheimer's, which were such astonishment to the audience. The presentations not only deepen the students’ understanding of natural sciences, but also that of the treatment of human diseases. What impressive most was the duality of molecules. The evaluation of a compound should starts with objective analysis and thinking about how to make them better service us human beings rather than jeopardize our health, Mr. Wang said to the students.    

The PPT were all precise in language and organized in layout. As the required class language is English, the foreign language literacy is part of the evaluation criteria. The time maximization of each presentation is five minutes.  

“We all enjoyed the class very much. Mr. Wang commented on our presentations and gave some suggestions for our future improvement. We benefited much from this activity and now long for more chances of doing this”, the students shared their ideas.
