On June 25, the College of Innovation and Experiment held the 1st ACHIEVE3000 Lexile Reading Contest & the 2nd Organic Chemistry Notetaking Contest Award Presentation Ceremony. Host by Deputy Dean Wang Xiaoping, the event gathered guests including Secretary Li Haihua, Deputy Secretary Li Xiangtuo, Head of Achieve3000 West Division Sun Shaopeng, Prof. Yuan Maosen and Associated Prof. Tang Jiangjiang from the College Organic Chemistry teaching team, Ren Na and Meng Yun from the College English teaching team.
In the award presentation ceremony, Mr. Sun Shaopeng carefully introduced the Lexile Framework for Reading and its integration with Achieve3000 English reading teaching system, with close attention to the application of modern educational technology in building up students’ English reading skills. With the help of the Lexile Framework for Reading and the patient guidance of teachers, students have made great progress on their English proficiency. Prof. Yuan Maosen gave an introduction on the Organic Chemistry English Notetaking Contest, recognizing it as a valuable exploration of personalized teaching and independent learning by the course team. He also encouraged students to keep on developing good study habits, such as improve learning efficiency by taking notes. Moreover, Secretary Li Haihua congratulated the students on their achievements and expressed earnest expectations and wishes on their future practice. He hoped that students would take the honor as a new starting point and a driven force, marching forward to greater progress with modesty, patience, diligence, and persistence.
Finally, the winners were awarded certificates and prizes by Secretary Li Haihua, Mr. Sun Shaopeng and the teaching team.
