To familiarize the students with academic research at A&F and have them be exposed to leading professors, our college held the 6th lab tour for the Y2013 and Y2014 students, over 200 of whom took part in the activity from 1st - 17th December.
During these days, the students visited the labs of professor Wang Junru of Science College, Professor Zhao Shanting of Veterinary Medicine College and professor Liu Tongxian of Plant Protection College. At Science College, the students learned about research of resources of medicinal plants and the utility of HPLC and GC machine. At Veterinary Medicine College, the students were introduced the latest research progress from professor Zhao Shanting who then demonstrated them skills in animal experiments. Professor Liu Tongxian of Plant Protection College introduced the research and key project that his lab were undertaking. He then showed the students around A&F Entomological Museum and shared with them his experience in research.
This activity enhanced the communication between mentors and the students, furthering the students understanding of A&F research platform and laying foundation for their making choice of discipline and academic mentor next year.
