A Warm Spring Festival of 19 CIEers
From: CIE Student Affairs Office      By: Cui Chunhao      Date: 2021-01-15

“Hi, Dad, Mom. I’m very well here. Our college sent me some milk and biscuit this morning. Don’t worry. I quite enjoy the life now. I often do some reading in the dorm and I love that. It’s very relaxing.”Fan, a student of Biology Base-Class 2001, whose hometown was in high-risk epidemic area, said to his parents over the phone. She was one of the students who were encouraged to stay at university due to the epidemic prevention and control policy.

It has been estimated that there were originally 81 students who had intended to stay at university during the vocation. As required by our university rules, most of the students had gone back home before January 13th. However, there were 19 students lingered at school due to the requirements of policy or the research and teaching tasks.

CIE’s General Party Branch showed great concerns to those students. On the afternoon of January 14th, CIE Party Secretary Li Haihua, deputy Party Secretary Li Xiangtuo, and all student instructors paid visit to the students and sent them many heart-felt gifts.

As stepping into the dorm, Ms Li inquired about the students’ life and study recently, and then had a long heart-to-heart talk with them. She reminded the students of making careful and feasible plan for their vocation life and career development, doing more sports to exercise the body and improve the immunity. She also advised the students keep in close contact with family and classmates, and follow the rules of our university for health and personal safety.

Mr. Li Xiangtuo encouraged the students to take good advantage of this long break for some  nutritional reading. Strong body and sound psychology were both needed in the prevention of epidemic. In addition, what they did know would lay solid foundation for their future life and study. He also pointed out that the student should keep in touch with their student instructors and follow the university rules of epidemic prevention and control.

After that, the student instructors handed out the gifts that CIE prepared for the students, and sent best wishes to the students.

The secretary of CIE Student Affairs Office said, “Generally, choosing to stay in school during winter vacation are all out of special reasons. This would a tough time for them. The heads of CIE’s visit aims at encouraging the students to be tough and help them alleviate the homesickness. Our college will definitely attaches greater importance to the students’ life here. We have made careful plans to guarantee the physical and mental health of the students and the perfect order on campus.”
