To help the students adapt to the university life in more than one way, CIE held the Time Mail activity and Tristich Contest as the beginning of their new term.

Time Mail, to write a letter to the future, is an activity for the 2017 new students only. CIE in advance prepared the envelopes for the students, then collected and would kept the mails for receivers. In the future, the letter will be returned to the sender-receiver themselves, as a reminder of students examining whether their dreams fulfilled, and as an encouragement for their pursuit of greater achievement. 

Tristich Contest is to encourage students to express wishes for wonderful college life in new term and their love and attachment to hometowns. As soon as the event launched, a large number of students had been greatly attracted.

Some students encouraged themselves to make persistent efforts to achieve better results in the new semester; some students showed their longing for hometowns; some students explained their understanding of love and longing for beautiful love. According to the Wechat online statistics, the Best Popularity Award winners go to Hou Renjie, Ma Yuqing, Wang Xiao Shuai, Xing Xiao Qian, Feng Fan and Tian Weiyong. While the offline first prize, second prize and third prize were selected by the contest panel. The first prize winner is Feng Fan. Xing Xiaoqian and Tian Weiyong won the second prize while He Zongxing and Niu Zhihan took the third prize.

Time Mail and Trsitich Contest were held by CIE to help the students set clear goals at the very beginning of new semester as a reminder of encouragement for better future.
