After two weeks’ preparation, Youren College’s 1st Charity Sale was launched. The event was co-organized by CIE, College of Encology, and College of Food Science and Engineering. Themed on “devote the ‘waster hate’ and bring warm to kids”, the event called for students to donate their idle items and help with the kids in poverty-stricken areas.
Many students attended the charity sale on the day. Not only did they make donations with items or money, they also wrote down their best wishes and encouragements on the postcards for the kids. “Study hard for a better future!” “We are here in the university waiting for you!” The concerns and cares were even warmer in the cold winter days.
Wang Chenxu from CIE said, “This year’s charity sale is successful in terms of size and quality, as well as the donation amount. I can feel students’ enthusiasm for charity works.”
All the donations will be sent to the primary schools in the poor area of Qinghai Province. Detailed information will then be disclosed to the students through CIE’s WeChat public account.
This charity sale shows the students’ concerns for kids in the impoverished areas and demonstrates the students’ social responsibility. “Managing state fundamentals, solving civilian livelihood, and respecting scientific research” should be every NWUAFer’s motto.
