In order to further promote the spirit of patriotism and to celebrate the 70th birthday of New China, on the morning of September 22nd on the playground of north campus, CIE students autonomously organized a singing contest --- Happy Birthday, Our Beloved Motherland!
The loudest song praising the great motherland; the most touching melody, showing innovative style. At the competition site, each class sang a well-known patriotic classic, fresh or lively, or inspiring, singing the glorious history of New China with passionate singing, and paying tribute to the 70th anniversary of New China. "My Motherland and Me" sings a deep love for the motherland and a persistent pursuit of dreams; "The Same Song" expresses the common belief of Chinese sons and daughters to build a harmonious China with one heart and one mind; "The Youth China" highlights youth The students are full of vigor and bravery; "Defend the Yellow River" brings the war-torn era and the prosperous peace era into the audience's field of vision. The climax of the game scene was repeated, applause and applause continued.
They sang out their loves and wishes to our country, they sang of the prospect and achievement of our motherland. Each class gave a show of singing classic patriotic song. With the beautiful melody and sonorous voice, they expressed their deepest passion to China’s development and history, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of China. The song Me and My Country was about the affection to motherland and the pursuit for dreams; The Same Song witnessed the firm belief held by all Chinese for a harmonious China; Strive and Thrive demonstrated the young students’ determination in conquering all difficulties in life; Defend the Yellow River pictured the times of warfare and age of peace. The singing were well integrated with the applauses and cheers.
This full preparation for the event lasted one month. To motivate the students to be more engaged and created in the student management affairs, the contest applied inter-class evaluation. Leaning, management and service are all conducted by the students themselves, which greatly improve their qualities. Over 400 hundred students from 15 classes flung into the contest, choosing songs, practicing, designing reciting, sign language and music instrument as illustrations. It is a great feast of music, a wonderful show of stage performance, and a manifestation of CIEers’ excellence and enthusiasm.
Though the contest comes to an end, the feelings, the good times and the spirit in the songs will never vanish. They will be part of profound and lifelong drive to the students’ development.
