On the afternoon of 12th September, the former president of Chinese University of Hongkong and honorary director of A&F Educational Development Fund, Mr. Liu Zunyi visited Youren College after the opening ceremony of Youren College.
Walking into the student apartment building --- Jinyu Xuan, Mr. Liu was attracted by the college motto in the handwriting of Mr. Yu Youren. College Dean Mr. Chen Yuchun introduced the historical background of NONGZHUAN and the connotation of the college motto to Mr. Liu who then showed his great appreciation. Then, Mr. Chen explained the philosophy of Youren spirit and the function of Youren Lizhifang. He pointed out that cultural connotation was significant to the college, so he hoped Mr. Yu Youren’s sense of responsibility of education and his patriotism would always be the inspiration to the college. It happened that the student activity of My University, My Dream was going when Mr. Liu visited Lide Fang. He then shared with the students his interpretation of dream and encouraged them to take the advantages of college resources and to improve the personal literacy goal-orientedly. At the college cafe, Mr. Liu had a cup of coffee made by the students and had a nice talk with them. Then, he visited the Feme Book and extended his appreciation to the design and book collection.
College system has long been practiced as a complete system at Chinese University of Hongkong, and had been greatly improved in Mr. Liu’s decade tenure. The experienced president with insightful views Mr. Liu gave many instructive advice to Youren College, which built a stage of communication between Shanheng College of Chinese University of Hongkong and A&F Youren College.
