To carry forward the Chinese traditional culture and familiarize the students with its value and significance, the lectures on this topic organized by Youren College came into being. On 7th November, the second lecture given by Professor Zhang Lei was held in classroom 8T07, on the topic of Chinese Traditional Cultural and Its Modern Value. Over 200 students from CIE, Food Science and Engineering, Enology College attended the lecture, while the Associate Dean Mr. Wang Jun hosted the evening activity.

Illustrating with personal understanding and experience, Professor Zhang introduced the Chinese ancient civilization and its modern value, including its origins, connotation, the obstacles and challenges in the development, the critical views of historic figures, its role in the development of global issues and the value of ancient society in modern times.

The students not only learned about the essence of our traditional culture, but also realized its active role in the development of modern society, which in turn will spur the onto further exploration and understanding.

The students voiced their ideas and suggestions about the lecture content and form on the questionnaires, which is designed to have instructive feedback to better the activities.
