The First Biology Contest of Youren College Held

To familiarize the students with biology knowledge and raise their interest in this major, Youren College held the first Biology Contest, in which 42 students of A&F biology majors participated. 

30 contestants of 10 teams stood out of the participants at the preliminary. The final was held on the evening of 22nd December in the hall of Xiushan Center. Associate professor Cheng Tieshan from A&F Life Science College was invited to be the judges. Over 130 students attended the contest. 

The contest consisted of three sessions, Q&A session in which each group was required to give answers to the compulsory questions, the 1st Responder in which only the first group of ringing the buzzer could have the opportunity for the question, and the Risk-taking that each group chose and solved the questions marked different scores. The final was greatly livened by the fierce competition between the contestant groups, whose perfect cooperation, quick response, expressive language and rich knowledge impressed the audience and the judges. Finally, there stood one champion group, two second prize group and three third prize groups. The crown of this contest went to the group of Ding Meiling, He Mengying and Wu Mengchun.

The activity enriches the students knowledge of biology and consolidates their academic base. In addition, it has created a environment of study and greatly encouraged the students to make more progress.
