Lecture Five of Chinese Ancient Civilization Held at Youren College
From: CIE Student Affairs Office           By:      Date: 2014-12-23

To carry forward Chinese traditional culture and further the students’ understanding its value and significance, the fifth lecture of Chinese Ancient Civilization was held on the evening of 21st December, in the hall of Xiushan center. Mr. Chen Xiaojun from A&F Humanity College was invited to give the lecture of Appreciation and Interpretation of Chinese Ancient Civilization to over 200 students of Youren College. Deputy Party Secretary of Enology College Mr. Liu Yusheng hosted the opening and closing ceremony.

The beginning part of the lecture was so satirizing and inspiring, that all the audience were absorbed in Mr. Chen’s analysis of chaos caused by the lack of literacy. Then, with plentiful illustration and quotation, the knowledgeable lecturer demonstrated the extensive and profound Chinese ancient civilization. From the Feng (Ballads), Ya (Festival Odes) and Song (Sacrificial Songs) in the The Book of Songs to the Thus Things Flow Away Day and Night in the The Analects of Confucius, from the glorious Full Collection of Tang Poems to the epic Dream of Red Mansions, Mr. Chen opened the door to the gallery of classic literature. With his witty and precise words, the audience were exposed to a wonderful world of Chinese ancient civilization.

This lecture has the students lean about the charm of Chinese ancient civilization and inspire them to reflect their life and study. The audience will be more determined to inherit the essence of our national culture.

Mr. Chen Xiaojun
